What is Eyelid Aesthetics (Blepharoplasty)?

The eyelid aesthetic; It is a surgical procedure that is performed in order to relieve the laxity and wrinkle caused by the aging of the eyelid tissue. With this surgical procedure, the protrusion of the bones related to the reduction of fat tissue around the eye counter, under-eye rings, blackening, and the recess around the eyes are disappearing. In short, it is a surgical procedure to remove deformations in the lower and upper eyelids.

How Eyelid Aesthetics (Blepharoplasty) is performed?

In eyelid aesthetics, the upper eyelid and lower eyelid aesthetics are different and the extent of surgical intervention is determined after the doctor’s examination depending on the patient’s condition. This surgery can be done under general or local anesthesia, but general anesthesia is preferred and the duration of the operation lasts 1-1.5 hours. The incision area for the upper eyelid is just below the eyelid fold, and for the bottom eyelid is just below the eyelashes. Traces of incision are not visible after some time after surgery.

After Eyelid Aesthetics (Blepharoplasty) Surgery

The slight swelling of the eyelids and in rare cases bruising after eyelid aesthetic surgery is a normal process. After the 4th day of the surgery, this swelling and bruising start to get better. To lie a little high and to apply cold water compress to the face for the first few days will help reduce the swelling. One week after the surgery, the patient returns to normal life.
