Does the prosthesis used in breast augmentation need to change after a certain time?

Not necessary. Very rarely (0.1%) in the first year, the membrane around the silicon thicken the capsule can create a hard structure. Silicone is removed because it will give the patient a feeling of pain. As soon as it can be changed right away or to let the body to be rested for a while and after a new prosthesis can be placed. I haven’t had such feedbacks from my patients yet.
